Michihamono Tsuki Nomi Woodcarving Medium Tool 6mm Small Short Bent Spoon Gouge
This tool is used for carving where the hollow is more than a straight gouge can deal with and for shaping small concave areas of your wood.
A fine wood carving short bent gouge is made of great quality White Paper Steel (Shirogami No. 2), named after the paper that it comes wrapped in at the factory, and features exceptional edge retention and easy sharpening, making it a perfect tool for wood carving, which is exactly what this tool is. Not only does this tool have a great blade, but the ergonomic handle is quality made from Japanese cherry blossom wood that has a smooth finish to provide exceptional comfort when carving. A strong ferrule is added to ensure the handle will be less susceptible to splitting.
Possessing the benefits of both Michihamono’s full sized socket and small wood carving hand tools, this Tsuki Nomi tool has a more shallow angle bevel, which allows it to make more intricate cuts than a full size socket chisel, but with a higher angel bevel and durability than fine wood carving tools. This short bent gouge can be used in finishing small, hard-to-reach areas of wood and under rising parts of the wood in relief carving.
