Michihamono Tsuki Nomi Woodcarving Tool 6mm Medium Wood Carving Shallow U Gouge
This wood carving tool creates 6mm wide shallow cuts on your wood. Great for roughing out wood sculptures, figurines, and other similar woodworks.
This superb wood carving tool, made in Japan by Michihamono, is forged from White Paper Steel (Shirogami No. 2), a traditional type of steel used in making high-quality Japanese cutting tools, and an ergonomically designed handle made from Japanese cherry blossom wood to provide great control and grip when carving. This tool is guaranteed sharp right out of the package and will hold its sharpness for a long time even with frequent use. A metal ferrule sits at the end of the handle to prevent it from splitting. It has a shallow angled bevel for producing sharp cuts better than a socket wood carving tool.
This Tsuki Nomi ("tsuki" means "to push", refers to the way this tool is used, by pushing using your hand), is a type of Japanese carving tool will help you in smoothing flat surfaces with its slightly curved cutting edge, allowing you to carve wood without damaging the wood grain. It has a sturdier shank and ferrule that small wood carving hand tools don't possess, yet minus the weight and bulk of a full sized socket tool, allowing it to fill the niche between both tools perfectly.
