Michihamono Wood Carving Tool Tsuki Nomi 18mm Large Straight Edge Japanese Woodcarving Flat Chisel, with Wooden Handle, for Woodworking
This woodworking flat chisel with an 18mm wide cutting edge is great for setting in straight edges in your wood.
A great beveled edge woodworking chisel made by Michihamono of Japan. This tool is forged from White Paper Steel (Shirogami No. 2), a traditional type of metal used in high-end Japanese cutting tools and can be sharpened to a razor-sharp edge, embedded in an ergonomic handle crafted out of Japanese cherry blossom wood that sits comfortably in your hand. With an added ferrule, to ensure the blade will not separate while carving.
This woodcarving straight chisel can be used in cleaning and finishing straight edges and corners of your wood. It cuts thin slices of wood to make rough surfaces smooth. This Tsuki Nomi flat chisel, a type of Japanese woodcarving tool, fills the role between full-sized socket wood carving tools that remove large quantities of wood, and small wood carving tools for detailed works. The shallow, high angle bevel on the blade allows it to cut sharper than socket chisels and be more durable than finer wood carving tools.
