Michihamono Wood Carving 15mm Shallow Spoon Gouge Short Bent Woodcarving Tool
This wood carving short bent gouge can carve deeper hollows than long bent gouges. Great for hollowing recesses such as in making bowls, spoons, and other concave surfaces.
This woodworking short bent gouge is handcrafted by professional craftsmen at Michihamono in Japan. Forged from high-quality Blue Paper (Aogami No.2), made by adding chromium and tungsten to white steel for increased toughness and improved edge retention. The tang of the blade is embedded in a wooden handle made out of Japanese cypress, allowing you to use this tool for many years.
This tool is useful in high relief carving for reaching flat surfaces under rising parts of the wood, where a straight gouge can't enter. Also available in 7.5mm and 4.5mm sizes for carving wood in different radiuses (other sizes sold separately).
