Michihamono, a well known manufacturer of Japanese carving tools, has created this high-quality woodworking short bent gouge with a 1.5mm wide blade. This tool's blade is made of Blue Paper Steel that has a high chromium and tungsten content, ensuring the blade will not chip off and wear out easily. The blade's tang is inserted in a sturdy wooden handle made of Japanese cypress wood that is both comfortable to hold and provides better control when carving. This tool is razor-sharp right out of the box and will last for many years.

This tool's 1.5mm spoon bent blade is ideal for accessing hard-to-reach areas of wood and adding very fine details. Available in 4.5mm, 7.5mm, and 15mm sizes to carve wood in various widths depending on your needs (each sold separately).

Approximate Dimensions & Product Data:

  • Never use the blade of this tool as a lever to remove wood,
  • Cutting strokes should be only vertical (i.e., up or down), with minimal pressure applied,
