Michihamono Medium Wood Carving Tool 4.5mm Flat Skew Woodcarving Corner Chisel
A woodcarving tool for smoothing out slightly convex surfaces on wood and cleaning the deep corners and edges of wood inaccessible by normal chisels and gouges.
Made by Michihamono, a Japan-based carving tool manufacturer with a long history, this skew corner chisel is forged from quality Blue Paper Steel (Aogami) No.2 that has a high tungsten and chromium content, for increased strength and long-lasting sharpness. This tool also comes with a smooth Japanese cypress wood handle. The skewing of the tool is essential with intricate works and cleaning angles and tapered corners where tools with square ends can't reach.
The sharp edge is useful for carving 4.5mm wide fine details and shaping the edges left by a parting tool. It can also be used to smooth small, slightly curved areas of the wood. Buy this tool that is skewed to the right for carving areas of wood in the right direction, along with the left-skewed chisel which carves in the other direction. Left skew chisel sold separately.
