Seiwa Cova Super Matte White 30g Professional Leathercraft Edge Dye Acrylic Resin Water Based Enamel Finishing Paint, for Leatherworking
This leather edge dye with a matte finish is used to protect the edges of your leather items such as cardholders, wallets, and purses and does not fade easily even when it gets wet.
This high quality leather edge dye is developed and produced by Seiwa of Japan. Simply apply it to the leather edge to give it a subdued matte finish that protects the leather and keeps it from fading even when wet. It has excellent flexibility and very good adsorption on the cut leather surface. The finish will be even more beautiful if you polish the edge with burnishing gum before applying it. Furthermore, it is resistant to sunlight and water, allowing the color to last a long time.
Apply it to the leather edge using a brush and let it dry. It is recommended that at least two coats be applied with a drying time of 30 minutes in between (one day for complete drying). Available in 4 Matte colors (each sold separately).
Available matt edge dye colors (each sold separately):
- Cova Super Matte White
- Cova Super Matte Brown
- Cova Super Matte Dark Brown
- Cova Super Matte Black
Finishing the leather edge with Cova Super:
Start by applying Tokonole or Toko Pro burnishing gum to the leather edge then rub it with a slicker to finish. Smooth the edges using 400 grit sandpaper. Repeat the process and use 800 grit sandpaper to smooth the edges. The more the burnishing gum is applied, the smoother the cutting surface becomes. Shake the Cova Super well before use and coat the leather edge about 2 to 3 times using an appropriate applicator, with 20-30 minutes of drying time between each coat. After drying, rub with a slicker for adsorption. If desired, smooth the cutting surface with 2000 grit sandpaper, then paint the final coating and dry to complete.
