Takagi of Japan produces this light and easy-to-use slim ryoba nokogiri double-edged saw. It features a razor-sharp blade forged from SK5 steel, which has outstanding edge retention and is a carbon steel with a carbon content of less than 1%. The fine grain and carbon carbides provide excellent wear resistance. The carbon and chromium content of SK5 steel enhances hardness, wear/corrosion resistance, tensile strength, and edge retention. The handle is constructed of a hard, long-lasting wood that is extremely resistant to wear.

The ripping teeth on one edge and the crosscutting teeth on the other edge of this Japanese double-edged saw makes it especially useful for woodworking that require both crosscut and rip sawing. To reduce kerf binding, the blade is narrower at the heel than at the toe, and somewhat thinner in the center than at the sides. The pull stroke keeps the blade from bending, and since the steel is so thin, it creates a small kerf, allowing the saw to cut through the wood quickly.
