Michihamono Pencil Stand 250mm Woodworking Marking Tool Measure Carving Height
This tool is great for drawing horizontal lines and marks on an uneven surface of your wood sculpture that can be used as a guide for carving. It can also be used for measuring height when used with a ruler or other measuring tools.
This excellent marking pencil stand is manufactured by Michihamono of Japan to accurately mark horizontal lines on uneven surfaces of three-dimensional wood sculptures and carving. This tool has two adjustable parts, one is for adjusting the height of the tool, and the other is for the pencil holder. A wingnut is used for fastening and loosening without the need of using tools. Made from die-cast aluminium, making it corrosion resistant and durable.
This tool is used with a pencil and is ideal for producing horizontal lines and marking points for shoulder lines and positions of body parts such as eyes, ears, and other similar designs for wooden sculptures and figurines. In Japan, this tool can be used in Noh masks for drawing reference lines. It can be used alongside a carpenter's square with a wooden stand for measuring the height of your wood sculptures accurately.
To use, simply place the stand and your wood carving on a flat and steady surface. Fasten a pencil in the stand holder so that the tip of the pencil is at the desired height you wish to mark you wood carving, then, with the pencil tip contacting your wood work, spin your wood carving around ensuring the pencil is marking a horizontal line all along the desired height on your wood carving.
