These excellent, Japanese made, precision tools are great for slicing perfectly round holes in your leather, and are an outstanding addition to your leathercraft tool kit. Unlike other cheaply made tools from elsewhere, these tools are crafted in Japan from the finest quality, high carbon S45C steel. S45C temper steel is selected for its strength and impact resistance, because of its high carbon content S45C steel has a higher tensile strength, with ductility and impressive wear resistance.

Hand-honed and hand-polished these tools will slice, not punch, their way through your leather, leaving clean even holes. These hole punches are guaranteed to be delivered sharp and perfectly round, and, with proper care, will last many decades.

Great for punching decorative holes, holes for belt buckle prongs, or even fine holes for watch straps. Vent holes in bags, preparatory holes for brass eyelets, lacing holes, guide holes for slots, and many more!

Choose an optimal size from our range of twenty two different hole punches from the fine to the massive, we have the following size diameters:

To use this Craft Sha Leathercraft Precision Round Hole Punch Leather Cutting Tool 0.6-30mm, simply mark the place you wish to cut on your leather and select a suitable sized hole punch, and inspect the hole punch for sharpness and any obstruction in the punch hole. Place your leather on a firm, yet pliable cutting board of suitable thickness and hold flat as necessary then position your selected leather hole punch over the area you wish to cut, ensuring it will cut the desired area to the desired size. Hold the hole punch 90 degrees to the flat side of your leather and firmly, yet carefully, twist the blade into the leather to seat the blade before striking the top with a soft headed hammer directly downwards firmly and repeatedly until the leather is fully penetrated.

As with all cutting tools, these hole punches require care to maintain their edge if they are to give reliable results. Please ensure that the tool blade is not struck or is stored in contact with any hard surface. Tools should be kept clean and oiled with a suitable mineral oil when not in use to prevent oxidisation or corrosion. Use a soft headed hammer when punching through leather. Only use the tool to punch through leather or softer materials.

The blade of this tool should be sharpened to maintain its cutting edge from time to time. This can be done by evenly running the blade in a rolling motion across a suitable, very fine grit, oil-lubricated, when stone, oil stone or sand paper (no more than 1000 grit). Care should be taken to sharpen evenly and not to over sharpen the tool as this may cause uneven or excessive wear. Once the desired sharpness is achieved, the blade should be stropped on a smooth leather strop for best results.

Keep out of the reach of children.
