Made by renown tool company Michihamono of Japan, this mini Dozuki saw is an excellent tool for cutting tenon shoulders, which is called 'dozuki' in Japan, where this saw got its name. Its sharp teeth cuts wood so smoothly and precisely that finishing with a chisel or plane is almost not required. It has a blade that is made of SK4 tool steel, which has excellent hardness qualities, and contains chromium, molybdenum, and vanadium, a great steel for woodworking tools.

It cuts on a pull stroke which makes it easier to cut on a straight line and requires less work when sawing. This tool's teeth are crosscut, which cuts dovetails, tenons, and other similar types of wood shapes much cleaner and smoother than standard teeth.

Approximate Dimensions:

  • Blade Material: SK4 Steel
  • Blade length: 150mm
  • Pitch: 1.41mm
  • Thickness: 0.3mm
  • Cut width: 0.49

To use this dozuki saw, hold the handle firmly and put a little pressure while sawing. With your other hand, use your thumb or index finger as a guide. Start the cut near the tip of the saw and cut with short, smooth strokes. Gradually increase the length of your strokes until you are using the full length of the blade, and the blade is aligned to the wood surface.

Instructions for replacing the blade:

Wrap the blade into a towel or something similar for your safety. Hold it with the blade facing up then gently tap the handle on a solid surface until the blade comes off. Insert the new blade on the metal holder. Make sure it is firmly hooked inside the metal holder. Then with the blade safely wrapped, hold it with the teeth facing down and gently tap the handle on a solid surface until the blade is fully inserted. (Replacement blade is sold separately)

Please note: The blade edge is sharp, keep out of the reach of children. Store without the blade contacting any hard surface to avoid dulling the cutting edge.
