This outstanding FLINT Leather Adjustable Creaser is the perfect way to impress crisp and accurate 0.5mm creases into the edge of your leather. Great for stitch or punch creases, decorative creases, or compressing the fibres in your leather to promote longevity of your leatherwork. The space between the blades encompasses a distance from 0mm to a maximum width of 7mm.
This model of adjustable creaser is available in three sizes (other sizes sold separately):
- 0.5mm thick creasing blade - For fine creasing and marking lines for creating a recess for lacing punch slots,
- 1.2mm thick creasing blade - For mid-size creasing and for creating a recess for diamond stitching,
- 1.5mm thick creasing blade - For broad creasing and for creating a recess for European style stitching.
This adjustable creaser is made of high quality 304 Stainless Steel, that has excellent resistance to corrosion. The high nickel and chromium content of 304 stainless steel not only ensure corrosion resistance, but also heat resistance as well, allowing it to be heated prior to creasing, and endure many years of continuous use while providing excellent results, year after year. The ebony handle is both visually appealing, while also ensuring a luxurious feel, and the machined brass ferrule securely holds this solidly made tool together.
To use this Craft Sha FLINT Leathercraft Tool Adjustable Creaser Leather Edge Folder 0.5mm, simply adjust the creaser to the desired width with the side screw, place the finer blade on to the leather, using the thicker blade as a guide, and push firmly down and along the edge, as you hold your leather securely on a hard surface. Hold perpendicular to your leather work so the finest point of the creasing edge blade contacts the leather. Move the tool in a back and forth, ensuring a firm and steady grip so as not to accidentally slide off the leather, thereby creating any unwanted creases. For optimal results, gently heat the creasing blade under a low flame until hot to the touch, but will not cause injury nor sear you leather, before carrying out the steps above.
Kindly note that the background grid is in square millimetres.
