Skive and cut your leathercraft creation with the help of this leather skiving knife. This budget-friendly and very useful tool have a sharp blade made from D2 steel connected to a walnut wood handle with a smooth and ergonomic finish, great for your leather skiving, trimming, and cutting needs.
Note: The blade of this knife has undergone a single heat treatment only.
When cutting leather, insert one corner of the blade into your leather. Pull the knife towards you while moving the blade in the direction that needs cutting. Pitch the handle away from you to gain more control when turning the knife around corners and pitch the handle towards you when cutting in a straight line for better efficiency. When skiving leather, hold the knife where the edge of the blade is facing in the same way as the edge for the leather or at an angle as preferred, then cut your leather outwards or across from where you would like the skive to begin straight through to the edge of the leather. Always place a cutting mat under your leather when cutting or skiving to protect the tool and work surface.
