This superb single prong 4mm diamond pricking iron, manufactured by Kyoshin Elle in Japan has been hand made to the highest standards. Tempered and forged from tool steel, a type of carbon steel and alloy steel with qualities such as hardness, wear resistance, toughness, and resistance to softening at high temperatures, this quality tool will give you years of service.

When working with overlapping leather, this tool is ideal for creating corner stitch holes or precisely putting a stitch hole in just the right location. This pricking iron is meant to produce a single diamond-shaped hole, which is also ideal for corners or having custom lengths between holes, ensuring holes do not stop either too far or too close to the end of the stitch line.

Lower-quality pricking irons may have improperly tempered steel, that will allow prongs to bend, an undetected bent prong can produce permanent uneven stitch holes if not noticed, ruining your leatherwork. This tool, however, have a highly tempered prongs that offers a twofold purpose: They protect your leatherwork from uneven stitching by breaking, rather than bending, when overstressed. Protecting you against uneven tool stitching while delivering longer-lasting points with less sharpening and greater penetration. This dual purpose is incredibly beneficial since it provides you with peace of mind, knowing that even a single uneven hole will not ruin the leather masterpiece you've worked so hard to create.

To gently tap this tool into your leatherwork, always use a soft-headed hammer (never a metal one). If you work with leather that is thick enough to make removal difficult, a bigger pricking iron is recommended. Please keep this tool away from other tools and items, and avoid dropping or hitting it on a hard surface. Pull this stitch punch straight out of your leatherwork, never rocking or twisting it side to side to loosen it, since this might damage the prongs.
