This affordable Kyoshin Elle Tang Fude Brush is a versatile tool rooted in East Asian artistic tradition, originally designed for classical Chinese calligraphy and later adopted for use in general dyeing. The name Tang refers to the Tang Dynasty (618–907 AD), a golden age of culture and the arts in Chinese history. Brushes with this name follow the form and function of traditional calligraphy tools developed during that period. In this context, Tang is also used by Kyoshin Elle as a model name to identify this brush type.

Made from 100% goat hair without a synthetic core, the brush has a fine pointed tip that allows for fluid ink flow and precise control. The natural softness of the goat hair makes it suitable for gentle applications on both paper and leather. Its lightweight wooden handle offers a comfortable grip, making it a practical choice for beginners learning brush techniques and for experienced artists requiring fine line control with water-based media.

This brush is ideal for dyeing leather, writing calligraphy, brush lettering, and Sumi-e, the traditional Japanese ink painting technique. It is compatible with water-based inks and dyes and can be used across various surfaces. Users often dedicate one brush per colour to preserve tonal purity in multi-colour projects. The pointed tip supports expressive line variation, making it suitable for outlining, shading, or writing traditional Japanese and Chinese characters.

Although not part of a wider series, the Tang Fude Brush is a standalone model designed for versatility across both traditional calligraphy and modern dyeing techniques. It is recommended for users exploring detailed linework, brush-based ink art, and multi-surface applications.

Product Data:
• Material: 100% goat hair
• Handle material: Wood
• Brush tip length (excluding handle): Approx. 25mm
• Overall dimensions: Length 200mm × Width 9mm
• Weight: Approx. 4g
• Ideal for: Leather dyeing, calligraphy, brush lettering, Sumi-e, water-based inks and dyes

To use, dip the brush into ink or dye and gently remove excess liquid. Apply pressure as needed to vary line width or saturation. The brush performs well for both structured scripts and freehand colour application.

After each use, rinse the brush thoroughly with clean or warm water to prevent pigment buildup. Gently reshape the tip with your fingers and allow the brush to dry completely in a well-ventilated area. Do not store while wet or let the bristles rest on hard surfaces, as this may affect their shape and longevity. Store upright or suspended to preserve the pointed tip.
