With this Japanese short bent wood carving tool, you can carve out difficult areas of wood sculptures with ease. Its slightly bent, extremely sharp cutting edge is made from high-speed steel, composed of chromium, tungsten, vanadium and high carbon steel, makes for the perfect material for cutting blades. This tool's handle is made from strong and durable Japanese cypress wood which gradually narrows towards one end, giving the user a comfortable grip.

To use this short bent gouge, hold the handle of the tool near the part where the blade joins the handle. Position your thumb behind the shank, this will provide the pushing motion needed to carve your wood. Using your other hand, grip the handle near its end, this will provide the control needed for the tool to run smoothly along the surface of the wood. Simply push forward with the thumb to carve the wood's surface. Repeat until you achieve the desired result. Use this method for cleaning up backgrounds or for finishing purposes.
