This Saiku Saw is a high quality handcrafted tool made by Michihamono from Japan. This Japanese double edge flush cutting saw is perfect for softwood and hardwood. Its incredibly flexible and extremely thin blade, with its fine teeth, make it an amazing tool for flush cutting.

This saw's very thin and flexible blade can be used to cut off plugs, dowels, or any object that is sticking out of your workpiece without leaving a scratch or damaging the surrounding surface of the wood. This tool is lightweight, yet sharp and capable so uses less energy, and cuts wood fast and smooth. A great addition to your workshop.

Approximate Dimensions:

  • Blade Length: 125mm
  • Pitch: 1mm & 1.3mm
  • Blade Thickness: 0.3mm
  • Handle: Length: 135mm

To use the Flush Cut Saw, hold the handle and press the saw’s blade flat against the surface you wish to cut flush with for the duration of the sawing, then, using the appropriate cutting edge of the saw, run the saw smoothly against the item you wish to cut in a smooth and consistent back and forth motion, taking care not to bind the blade in the cutting groove. Generally, more cutting strokes and less pressure are preferable as this will reduce the chances of your blade binding, even if this method takes longer. For larger items you wish to saw, use the coarser sawing edge with larger and fewer teeth. For smaller or finer sawing applications, use the edge with finer more numerous teeth.

Please note: The blade edge is sharp, keep out of the reach of children. Store without the blade contacting any hard surface to avoid dulling the cutting edge.
