This single-prong, diamond point pricking iron was developed and manufactured by Oka, one of Japan's renowned leathercraft tool manufacturers, to allow you to punch diamond-shaped holes for the corners or specific areas of your leather. This tool is made of quality steel that has been tempered and professionally sharpened to provide you with excellent, long-lasting service. This tool's handle is non-slip and hence provides a very comfortable grip.

This simple but essential tool can be used to create a single diamond-shaped stitch hole on the corner of your leather, which is excellent for connecting stitches neatly and attractively. This tool is great for producing corner stitch holes or precisely positioning a stitch hole in just the correct spot.

Size (space between tips of prongs):

  • 2.5mm

Available prong numbers (each sold separately):

  • 1-prongs
  • 2-prongs
  • 3-prongs
  • 4-prongs
  • 6-prongs
  • 12-prongs

Please note that you should always use a soft-head hammer to gently tap it into your leatherwork, and that when removing it, you should always take it straight out of your leatherwork rather than shifting it side to side to loosen it, as this may cause the prongs to snap. Avoid using leather that is so thick that it is difficult to remove. A larger pricking iron is advised if you work with leather that is thick enough to make removal difficult.

The prong on this tool is tempered, which makes it extremely strong yet brittle, so overworked prongs will break off rather than bend. This is by design, as the bent prongs of lower-quality pricking irons bend more quickly, potentially damaging your leatherwork by generating permanent uneven stitch holes if the bent prongs are not spotted.

Keep out of the reach of children.
