Oka of Japan designed and manufactured this excellent diamond point pricking iron to provide smooth work, efficiency, and a superb hand-sewn finish for all your leathercraft projects. The entire tool is tempered and is covered with a black coating, which makes it rust-resistant and long-lasting. The prongs of this tool have been precisely sharpened, and the handle has been knurled, helping you produce professional-looking stitch holes.

When you need to punch stitch holes in the corners of your leather, use this single prong pricking iron. This tool can also be used to add holes to a specific location on your leathercraft or if you are sewing leather with custom spacing.

Size (space between tips of prongs):

  • 6mm

Available prong numbers (each sold separately):

  • 1-prongs
  • 2-prongs
  • 3-prongs
  • 4-prongs
  • 6-prongs

This tool should be struck with a soft-headed hammer, never a metal head hammer, and always draw the stitching chisel straight out of your leatherwork after punching, not in a side to side motion, as this might cause the prongs to snap.

Please keep in mind that the prong on this tool is heavily tempered, which makes them extremely hard and gives them exceptionally long lasting penetrative abilities. Yet tempering makes the prongs somewhat brittle, allowing the prongs to break off rather than bend when damaged. While this may not sound preferable, this is, in fact, an excellent design feature as the prongs will break off when damaged enough to become misaligned, thereby preventing the permanent damage to your leatherwork that can occur with undetected bent prongs, an occurrence that happens with cheaper tools. Keep this tool away from other tools and other objects, and do not drop or allow this to to strike it against a hard surface.

Keep out of the reach of children.
