Carve wood like a pro with this 15mm Flat Socket Chisel, from Japan. The razor sharp blade is made with Laminated Yasuki White Paper No.2 Steel, that is welded to an annealed iron ferrule, giving the hardness of a quality steel blade with the softness and flexibility of iron, all firmly attached to a Red Oak Handle.
This mid-sized carpenter chisel is just what you need to remove large amounts of wood from your wood carving project while getting started on your wood project, to carving square cuts and slots in your woodwork.
To use this 15mm Flat Chisel grasp the handle beneath the chisel ring with your dominant hand, position the blade of the chisel on top of your wood and angle appropriately in the direction you wish to cut, before striking the top of the handle with a mallet or similar implement with enough force to penetrate the wood to the desired depth. It is recommended to use many smaller, shallower cuts, rather than larger, deeper cuts to prevent over penetration. Repeat as needed.
