Update: Suspension of De Minimis Rule & Shipping to the United States, 28th August 2025

We want to sincerely thank all of our US customers for their continued patience and support during these uncertain times. We know that shipping disruptions are frustrating, and we are working very hard to keep you informed every step of the way.

Sadly, as of Monday, August 25th, Japan Post has suspended all airmail and commercial airmail shipments to the United States due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the suspension of the de minimis tax exemption rule under the Trump administration’s executive orders (source).

What This Means for Shipping

  • We offer discounts for courier services (UPS and FedEx) that remain available and unaffected for now. These companies already have established methods of tariff collection and continue to ship reliably to the United States. So we will be able to ship your order via this method for the foreseeable future.
  • However, please note: shipments may be subject to tariff collection by the courier service upon arrival.

At present, tariffs are charged upon delivery, but indications suggest that tariffs may soon need to be collected at checkout. Should this change occur, we will unfortunately have no choice but to pass these tariff costs directly on to our U.S. customers.

Current Tariff Situation

  • Customers may be charged an import duty of 15% or up to $80 per item, depending on the product.
  • If you are charged and choose not to pay, you may refuse the package, and it will be returned to sender.
  • Please note: we cannot refund shipping costs in this case, as tariff collection is beyond our control.

Looking Ahead

We remain hopeful that there may be a change to the current situation, but for now there is no indication that the suspension of the de minimis rule will be lifted. In the meantime, we will continue to keep you updated and do our utmost to make the shipping process as smooth as possible.

We deeply value your trust and continued support, and we thank you for your understanding during this difficult period.
