To use, it is recommended that you hold this tool using your non-dominant hand, so that it does not dig into the back of the wood when you are carving from the front, and vice versa. Using your non-dominant hand lessens the pressure you need to put on this tool when wood carving, thus, you don't have to worry of uncontrolled carving on your woodworking projects.

Disclaimer: Due to the extreme sharpness of the blade, make sure to keep it out of reach of children. The shape of the blade also makes it susceptible to breaking off in the wood if it is buried too deeply, so use it gently with great caution. For maintaining the sharpness, store the blade with its cap on after it has been oiled. You should sharpen it against a whetstone or oil stone for maximum sharpness.
